Chicago Botanic Garden
Join NSCI’s new Director of Communications, Hila Ratzabi, for a poetry walk in the garden. Poetry can bring us back to our senses and connect us to the world within and around us. As we approach the High Holy Days, what better way to reconnect with awe than to spend time in nature reading poetry? We’ll meet at the Chicago Botanic Gardens, read and discuss poems together, then take a walk and try out some writing exercises. No writing experience necessary – all are welcome. Bring a notebook, pen, and a sense of discovery.

Did you know there’s a special psalm for the month of Elul through the High Holy Days? Through song, study, and discussion, we will encounter the resonant, inspiring, and challenging themes that make this psalm the accompanying text for the month of Elul. Come explore why Psalm 27 came to be the psalm of the season, how it helps prepare us for the High Holy Days, and engage with the questions it inspires as we approach the Jewish new year.
