PURPOSE
For nearly three decades NSCI’s Feed the Homeless program has helped to feed thousands of people around Chicago. We provide 1,000 hot meals and brown bag lunches monthly.
WHO WE SERVE
We deliver and serve to various locations in Cook County, including the Fourth Presbyterian Church, Chicago Lites Tutoring, the Night Ministry, Connections for the Homeless in Evanston, snack packs to Ronald McDonald House at Lurie Children’s Hospital, and we recently added Fill a Heart 4 Kids. One group of NSCI volunteers prepares meals, and then a second group of volunteers picks up and delivers meals to the various locations.
HOW TO GET INVOLVED
Volunteer one Sunday a month for hot food prep and brown bag lunches! Families are welcome! Contact volunteer coordinator David Rothschild to volunteer.

New! fill a heart 4 kids
We are thrilled to add Fill a Heart 4 Kids to the organizations we serve each month. Fill a Heart 4 Kids provides homeless, at risk, and foster children food, critical necessities, life skills, and educational support. Weekends are a critical time for children without access to food pantries, school meals, or a consistent place to sleep at night. We will be preparing 300 snack packs per month to ensure these children have food every weekend of the month. It costs $450 to fund 300 snack packs ($1.50 per bag of five snacks). Please consider contributing toward this monthly goal by donating to Feed the Homeless. Under Type, scroll down to “Social Action & Tzedakah Funds” and select “Feed the Homeless Fund.”
