A family-friendly outdoor experience to reflect individually and as a family on the past year, "casting off" that which we wish to leave behind through the Jewish ritual of casting off crumbs into the water. Designed for families with children in Preschool - Grade 5.

This service is designed to feel similar to the worship style of our NSCI Friday night services, with liturgy and reflection, and familiar contemporary melodies. Passes required.

This approximately 60-75 minute service offers the key components of the High Holy Day service made accessible for elementary school-age children, parents, grandparents and adults without children. Passes required.

Tot services are complimentary and are open to both congregants and the community. Passes are required and may be reserved here or by calling the synagogue office at (847) 835-0724.

This service is more formal in its prayer and musical form. Passes required.

In this service, explanations and teachings will be offered throughout the experience to help worshippers achieve greater understanding of the meaning behind the High Holy Day service liturgy and design. Reservations are required due to limited seating capacity and will filled on a first-come first-served basis. Register here.

This approximately 60-minute service includes an age-appropriate story for children, accessible readings, prayers and music. This service is designed for families with children in grades K-5. Passes required.

This warm, communal outdoor service features congregational worship and singing. After the service concludes, those who wish to do so will gather for Tashlich at Lake Michigan.

Do you struggle with addiction? Do you want or need support? Typically hosted at North Shore Congregation Israel, these weekly meetings will be held online in a closed session until further notice. AA is an anonymous Twelve Step Program for people who struggle with alcohol or other substances. Please park in the south parking lot. The High Holy Days hold within them the promise of starting over, starting new, returning to the best versions of ourselves and our lives. But that transformation does not “just happen.” Like all things, it requires effort. Join Rabbi Geffen along with others interested in taking up the sacred work of teshuvah - returning - to kick start the process. Requirements to attend: open heart and mind, willingness to be self-reflective, ability to restrain judgment of others.
