Nefesh Mountain Band, a critically acclaimed, New York–based Jewish bluegrass band, will bring their unique sound to North Shore Congregation Israel. Dubbed a “powerhouse unit” by Rolling Stone Magazine, and led by married couple Doni Zasloff and Eric Lindberg, the band has shared the stage with rock greats such as The Punch Brothers and Mike Gordon of Phish. Their innovative musical style is infused with Jewish soul, blending smokey vocals with masterful banjo and guitar performances and blurring the lines between Americana, bluegrass, folk, jazz, and blues. This free concert is generously sponsored by Jim Stone, Madeleine and Harvey Plonsker, and Bobby Takiff.

Before the concert, join us for Kabbalat Shabbat services at 6:15 pm, where members of Nefesh Mountain will be our Kabbalat Shabbat service musicians. Dinner will follow services.
