7:00 PM - 9:00 PMNSCIEver since publishing her provocative book People Love Dead Jews, Dara Horn has been approached by readers of all backgrounds asking her for a “solution” to antisemitism. In this talk, Horn explains how we can turn the conversation about antisemitism on its head by actually teaching people who Jews are—and how understanding Jewish culture’s template of creative resilience could benefit everyone in a pluralistic society.
Dara Horn is the award-winning author of six books, including, most recently, the essay collection People Love Dead Jews: Reports from a Haunted Present (Norton 2021). She received her doctorate in comparative literature from Harvard University, studying Yiddish and Hebrew. She has taught courses in these subjects at Sarah Lawrence College and Yeshiva University, and held the Gerald Weinstock Visiting Professorship in Jewish Studies at Harvard.
The Davis Family Forum was established in 1996 by Dr. Jack Davis z”l in memory of Rhoda Davis z”l to further discussion and understanding of the crucial public affairs issues facing the Jewish community today.
