The panel will include a geriatric care manager, a CJE eldercare attorney, and a financial planner, all moderated by our NSCI JCFS Liaison, Elizabeth Ury. Speakers will discuss familiar scenarios and then take questions from attendees. If you are caring for an older adult, this may be an important conversation for you to join. Questions? Speakers
Ifaat Bosse is the President of Bottom Line Financial Daily Money Management, a financial advocacy firm that assists clients in completing their daily financial and administrative obligations. A large part of the practice includes bill payment, tax organization, budgeting, and communicating with vendors on their clients' behalf. The firm also provides a more comprehensive solution by partnering with their clients' estate attorneys, investment advisors and other professionals. Ifaat graduated from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign with a BS in Accountancy, has a CPA and an MBA from DePaul.
Amy Weiss has been in legal services for more than 25 years. Amy grew up in Highland Park and went to University of Illinois for her undergraduate degree. She spent a semester at Tel Aviv University, and received her law degree from DePaul University. Amy has extensive experience working with low-income seniors on a wide variety of legal issues, including estate planning, housing, family law, debtors’ rights, and disability rights. Amy is delighted to be working with the Irving H. and Jane W. Goldberg Legal Services at CJE SeniorLife.
Julie Fohrman, MA, MAG, GCM, is a Gerontologist and the Founder of North Shore Geriatric Care Management in Lake Forest. Julie received her Masters Degrees in Gerontology & Psychology and has an advanced degree in Geriatrics. Julie has worked and specialized in the aging field for over thirty years. Julie's expertise is in handling complex geriatric care issues, Alzheimer's disease and dementia care, and navigating the aging journey for seniors and their families. Julie formerly worked for Brookdale Senior Living for over ten years where she held the position of Corporate Director of Assisted Living & Resident Services nationwide. Brookdale Senior Living is the nation's premier and largest owner, developer, and manager of independent living, assisted living, memory care, and skilled nursing communities. Prior to working for Brookdale, Julie was the Director of Social Services at the Chicago Department on Aging. Julie has an in-depth and extensive background and understanding of the aging field and is frequently called upon as an expert consultant to senior housing companies, health care organizations, and the aging industry.
