Hear from Israeli professional basketball player Jared Armstrong about his experience in Israel during the Hamas attack on October 7th and the following week. Jared is a 27-year-old Jewish Black American-Israeli, who plays for Elizur Ashkelon and is currently in Philadelphia while the Israeli basketball season is on pause during the war. In 2021, with the help of President Biden’s longtime confidant Rabbi Michael Beals, Jared launched a successful public advocacy effort to persuade the Israeli Ministry of Interior to recognize his right to make aliyah and claim Israeli citizenship. Jared will share about his experience in Israel in the week following the attack, his life and career on and off the court, and his activism against antisemitism and racism.
