Join Dr. Claire Sufrin, Associate Professor of Instruction and Assistant Director of Jewish Studies at the Crown Family Center for Jewish Studies at Northwestern University as she discusses the process of choosing material for the forthcoming book, The New Jewish Canon 1980-2015. She will present examples of key texts from each of the book's four sections: Jewish Politics and the Public Square; History, Memory and Narrative; Religion and Religiosity; and Identities and Communities.

Come hear Ralph Samuel’s compelling story as one of the 20,000 Jews who settled in Shanghai, China fleeing the Nazis. Rabbi Wendi Geffen will join Cardinal Blase Cupich and Eboo Patel at this year’s Michigan Avenue Forum, a council which promotes civic formation within the Chicagoland community by featuring public leaders in live lecture. This year’s focus will be “Jews, Muslims, and Christians: Loving God, Loving Neighbor.” More information will follow closer to the event.
