SHABBAT SERVICES

Our worship is spirited, renewing, meaningful and accessible. Music is an essential part of every worship experience at NSCI, and we encourage participation for everyone. Each service brings joy, reflection and the affirmation of community.

Although we miss being together physically for Shabbat, we are spiritually connected in countless other ways. Please join us online for upcoming Shabbat programs on the panel to the right.

Shabbat Services

Kabbalat Shabbat

Fridays at 6:15 pm (unless otherwise noted-please check calendar)
Service location from fall to spring-Perlman Sanctuary; summer-Lillian and Larry Goodman Terrace (weather permitting)
Livestreaming available for every Friday night service

We invite congregants of all ages and their guests to greet Shabbat with prayer, song and a brief d'var Torah in our intimate Perlman Sanctuary. Using the Reform movement’s prayer book Mishkan Tefilah, these inspiring services led by our clergy and musical ensembles offer spirited music, traditional prayer, as well as modern interpretations. Once a month during the school year, we use our congregational prayer book to support our L'dor Vador Intergenerational Service for Shabbat. If you are new to Jewish Reform prayer, listen to the prayer service so you can join in too. All Kabbalat Shabbat services last approximately 60 minutes.

Shabbat Morning Minyan Services

Saturdays at 9:15 am
Perlman Sanctuary
These intimate services in the round are guided by our clergy using our congregational Minyan prayer book, and provide opportunities for participation through Torah, Haftarah and interactive text study. Come by to see what it’s like. The service concludes around 11:00 am.

Family Shabbat Worship

L’dor Vador Intergenerational Services for Shabbat and Holidays

These popular intergenerational services for all ages are led by our clergy and our teen song and prayer leaders, Selah. These services typically feature a Jewish-themed story and birthday honors for all congregants celebrating that month. We enjoy song and prayer together for approximately 60 minutes on Shabbat and festivals and 75 minutes on the High Holy Days. Bring your family for a special Shabbat together. Explore our upcoming services here.

Tot Shabbat and Holiday Services

Throughout the year, children 0-6 years old and their families join together in fun-filled, age-appropriate Shabbat or holiday experiences led by a clergy member and song leader. They share in a lively story, movement and song, as well as a tasty snack. Explore our upcoming services here.

B’nei Mitzvah Services

B’nei Mitzvah marks a joyous occasion in the life of our young people, their families, and the community. At NSCI we celebrate children becoming B’nei Mitzvah at 10:30 am or 4:30 pm on Saturdays, as well as 10:30 am on Mondays and Thursdays.
