Rabbi Wendi Geffen
Rabbi Wendi Geffen, ordained at HUC-JIR, New York School on May 12, 2002, joined the North Shore Congregation Israel Rabbinic-Cantorial Staff on July 1, 2002. Rabbi Geffen, a native of Dallas, Texas received her MA in Hebrew Literature at HUC-JIR in New York in May of 2001. She earned a BA in Judaic Studies and Political Science from Emory University in May 1997. While at Emory, Rabbi Geffen was a Rotary Scholar, winner of the Emory Dorot Scholarship, and listed in Who's Who Among Students in American Colleges and Universities and was an intern at the Carter Center.
Rabbi Geffen has served as a Rabbinic Intern at Temple Israel in New York City and prior to that at Temple Emanuel in Edison New Jersey and Temple Beth Shalom in Ft. Walton Beach Florida. She has also been a Head Tour Leader and Counselor in NFTY Israel Teen Tour Program and a senior Counselor at the UAHC Greene Family Camp. Rabbi Geffen's North Shore Congregation Israel portfolio includes Social Action, Outreach, Youth Committee, the Young Youth Group and Junior Youth Group, and the Young Adults program. |
